Book 8 days Uganda safari and adventure the Pearl of Africa in a new style, explore one of East Africa’s largest Savanna National Parks – Murchison Falls National Park during game drives and a launch cruise.

Visit the primate capital of the world – Kibale Forest National Park, Kabarole district for a memorable chimpanzee tracking, discover more about mountain gorillas while on gorilla trekking in Bwindi and visit Africa’s second deepest lake- Lake Bunyonyi, one of the very few water lakes incredibly free from hippos, crocodiles and best for swimming.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1. Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala

Pick up by your safari leader, briefing and after drive to Murchison Falls NP, the only park sitting in Northwestern Uganda and also the biggest of the 10 parks the Pearl of Africa is known for.

During your big game expedition, en-route, make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary primarily to track rhinos in their natural environment. From Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to Murchison is about 2 hours’ drive via Kichumbanyobo gate.

Day 2. Game drive and boat cruise

Early breakfast and today’s activities range from a morning game drive to a boat cruise with an experienced park guide. First, have an exciting morning game drive via the Northern Banks of Murchison Falls National Park, see Kobs, Waterbucks, hartebeests, Buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, and birds.

A morning game drive today will last 2-3 hours and later, have lunch and you will go for an afternoon boat cruise to see Crocodiles, Hippos, and birds especially cormorants and bee-eaters. In addition, hike to the top of the falls. Before the day falls, you will go back at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3. Transfer to Kibale forest national Park

You will leave Murchison Falls N/Park early immediately after a cup of tea/coffee and drive for long hours up to Kibale National Park, 7-8 hours, including a lunch stop at Fort Portal. Proceed to any of the lodges you booked at Kibale to settle for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4. Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Community walk

Enjoy a cup of tea/coffee early in the morning then after, go for the briefing at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre on chimpanzee tracking etiquettes. Access to Kibale Forest starts at 8:00 am after you have been allocated to the park guide and takes 2 to 4 hours. Finding a chimp community guarantees you 1 full hour to observe chimpanzees, how they groom each other, taking photos then you walk back thereafter.

Lunch at leisure and after, Bigodi Swamp will be your next area to visit in the afternoon. Enjoy nature walking via the Bigodi swamp, sight a range of avifaunal species then relaxation at the lodge.

Day 5. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat cruise

On this day you will, you will wake up as early as 6:30 am, have your cup of tea or coffee and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will reach the park in the afternoon hours, check in to the hotel, have lunch and wait for the boat cruise on kazinga channel, where you will be amazed by the aquatic life which is composed of crocodiles, hippopotamus, as well as buffaloes and herds of elephants that are always at the water bank drinking water and swimming to cool their body temperatures. You will later go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6. Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

You will wake up as early as 6:30 am, have morning breakfast and embark on game drive, you will go through Ishasha where you will be able to spot tree climbing lions, birds chirping in the tree brunches, you might be very lucky to find lions putting down a buffalo an experience that is rewarding, you will later hit the road again to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park a distance that will take you about 5 to 6 hours, reach at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7. Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Boat Cruise

Have an early morning breakfast as early as 6:30 am, go to a briefing center where you will be entertained by local dancers through their songs, voices, and also be briefed about the trekking etiquettes, you will later set off for trekking where you will be able to meet the gorillas, spend an hour with them, take pictures, enjoy how they feed their young ones, how they interact and then embark on 2 hours drive straight to Lake Bunyonyi. Activities you expect to do while on Lake Bunyonyi expedition include a boat ride, visiting some of the 29 islands including Punishment Island, a cultural walk, swimming or chilling at the shores.

Day 8. Transfer back to Kampala

Wake up early in the morning, grab a cup of coffee/tea, pack your luggage and checkout of the hotel and embark on your journey to Kampala, a journey that will take you about 8 hours. You will have a stopover at Igongo country hotel for lunch, visit Ankore museum which is at the hotel, you will set off and embark on the journey, the next stopover will be at the Equator, where you will be able to take pictures, buy some souvenirs and then embark on your journey. The driver guide will drop you either at the hotel or at the Airport depending on the flight time.
